About me
I absolutely love making pottery and was hooked from my first class. Each stage is as exciting as the next, whether I'm throwing on the wheel, trimming and shaping the leather hard pieces, glazing or firing. There is nothing that beats opening the kiln after 11 hours of heat though, and looking at each piece to see how it looks and feels.
I live by the coast and the scenery is a major influence when I'm working with colour. The sea, the sky and the landscape look different every day and every season. All the blues, greens, browns, the golden glow of a sunset and the grey of a stormy sky can all be seen in the things I make.
I enjoy making functional pottery and I usually have lots of things at various stages of production - mugs, bowls, spoon rests, little vases and my favourite thing to make at the moment - egg cups!
Every item in my shop is unique and individual. I create sets by using the same colour palette, rather than creating uniform pieces all exactly the same size.
